“BEYOND THE SPOTLIGHT”: THE BUSINESS OF BURLESQUE

You’ve performed your first (or maybe first few) solos, and my, what a thrilling experience! Now what?

Let’s go “beyond the spotlight” and behind the scenes for practical information on professionalism, etiquette, showgirl preparation and getting booked for shows and festivals!

TOPICS:
– Developing your brand, maintaining a professional but sincerely you image. (Hint: it’s not a “one-size-fits-all” world– burlesquers cover the full spectrum of human experience!)
– Getting booked for shows and other gigs.
– Organizing your information. (So producers will love you!… And for your own sanity.)
– Marketing yourself/your product online and off.
– Starting points within the local community/landscape (shows, people to seek out and get to know) for leads on your next steps.

There are lots of details going into each topic, so we’ll be moving quickly to cover as many of the most salient points as possible. Please feel free to bring any burning questions you may have for a frank and open discussion at the end of class.
Optional: We may continue some of the conversations over #DrynxWithMynx when studio time is up.

PLEASE BRING:
– Note-taking device (pen & paper, phone, laptop, etc.)

Open to all levels. Led by Mynx d’Meanor.
